One of the most important values as stated in Key's mission statement is the provision of quality care and services to our clients and their families. Key conducts performance improvement efforts through the Performance Improvement Program (PIP). Key's quality program is a major undertaking for all staff and is vital to ensuring high quality services to the youth and families served.
The foundation of all Key's quality improvement knowledge is the client information system. Demographic data is collected on every client served by Key. The foundation for this data begins with the completion of the Client Facesheet/Intake Data Sheet with a client upon intake and when the case is closed with the data collected on the Client Discharge Data Sheet.
All of the data for the clients served in the programs is data entered into a Web-based application that resides on the internet and is hosted by an external host agency with all password protections and firewalls in place to ensure compliance with HIPAA/HITECH, state confidentiality requirements, and data security. This computerized informational database serves as the basis for all performance improvement activities and for an annual statistical analysis of the demographics and characteristics of the population served by Key.
