Residential Caseworker- LSG, Worcester, MA

Want to make a difference in the life of a child/teen?  That's what we do at the Key Program!  Gain experience to jump start your career in the human service or social service fields.  We are seeking a Residential Caseworker to work in Worcester, MA in our nine bed long term residential group home for girls.


The Residential Caseworker is directly responsible for the supervision of clients and executes their treatment/service plans.

  • Serve as a positive role model following Key’s guidelines regarding professional behavior
  • Provides client advocacy in the areas of health, education, vocation, legal and family intervention
  • Assist supervisory and clinical team with case management responsibilities for our children/youth and families
  • Assists clients in performing daily life skills activities including menu preparation, laundry, chores and homework
  • Promote family-centered and strength-based philosophies within the program
  • Implement and provide consistent behavior management utilizing counseling techniques, program structure and guidelines and crisis intervention, when necessary
  • Maintain written case documentation including daily treatment notes, health and medical records and client incident reports in accordance with agency policies and referral source guidelines
  • Transport clients to and from various community based activities


  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred (i.e. Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, etc.), or
  • an Associates degree or college coursework with one year of human service experience required, or
  • a high school diploma or GED/HiSet with two (2) years of human service experience, required.
  • All candidates must be 21 years of age or older;
  • All candidates must have a valid state driver's license; and, have a legally registered and insured car for work use.
  • All candidates must have the ability to work a varied and rotating schedule including days, nights, weekends and some holidays.

The Key Program is a private, non-profit human services agency whose mission is to assist at-risk and court-involved children/adolescents and their families to develop positive life skills and life experiences so they may pursue productive and rewarding lives. Key works in conjunction with the MA Department of Children & Families (DCF), MA Department of Youth Services (DYS), the MA Department of Mental Health (DMH) and the RI Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF) and is an agency provider of both community-based outreach services and residential treatment programming.
